I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord:
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified,
dead, and buried; the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand
of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy
Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body,
    and the life everlasting.   Amen

Welcome to Harlem United Methodist Church! We are glad that you chose to come and worship with us today. If you would notice in the pews there is a welcome card, please fill out both sides this card and place it in the offering plate. We pray that you will come back and worship with us again soon.

“Congratulations!”
The candle on the altar is in honor of Chevy Lane Thompson who was born on December 21st, 2011. Proud parents are James & Amber Thompson and proud grandparents are James & Jennifer Thompson.

“Communion”
Today, Sunday, February 5th will be communion Sunday. In the past, many members of our church have left an offering of a few dollars on the altar to help with our Social Services account. Our funds are low, but there are many needs in our community. Our church has always been known as a church who helps those in need. If you feel led to leave a donation or a check made payable to HUMC Social Services—thank you.
“I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.”
             Matthew 25:40

“UMW Sunday Unity Service”
February 12th will be UMW Sunday.  There will be one service at 11:15 with the choir and praise team leading the music.  There will be a guest speaker, baby gifts to missions’ recognition, dedication of the handbook and presentation of special gifts to mission pins.  I don't know what the message will be, but the speaker lost her young son to cancer.  She channeled her grief into forming an organization called "Jay's Hope".  Our District Superintendent, Rev. Gary Dean will worship with us on this day.  There will be a homemade soup and corn bread lunch following the service.  United Methodist Women
