The Pumpkins are Coming!
Each year the HUMC Outreach Committee sponsors The Pumpkin Patch.  For the entire month of October our church field, adjacent to the parking lot, is covered with pumpkins and other fall decorations.  Proceeds from the sale of these items are used to minister to various charities and other community needs.  Many area parents take advantage of the beautiful display of pumpkins, fall flowers, hay bales, etc. for a photo opportunity for their children.  We hope to see you there!

 Manna Truck Food Distributions

We are excited to introduce this special food distribution every other month.  We generally serve over 125 families each time and offer non-perishable items in support of these local households.  This is a free service our church offers our neighbors.  Call the office and ask for more information and see the Church Calendar page for upcoming dates.

Calling all Pack Rats!

Did you know that your church can use a lot of those things that you just can’t seem to throw away? Take a look at the list of items that we or other area agencies are collecting. (Save this list and put it on your fridge for future reference!)

Coupons—We send these overseas to our military families. The PX will accept these coupons up to 6 months past their expiration dates!

Plastic Bags—Yes, all of those wal-mart, IGA and other plastic bags that collect in the bottom of your pantry. We use these for Columbia County Cares, Manna Truck and the backpack program.

Plastic bottles— 10 oz & 20 oz bottles are used by Columbia County Cares

Garbage bag ties—We can use these too!

Labels—Our UMW collects labels from Campbell’s soup, Franco-American, Pepperidge Farm , Swanson & V8 products to benefit the Murphy-Harpst Children’s Home

Aluminum Cans—Our children’s ministry collects these cans to raise money for our local transitional house

Coats and other warm items—We partner with Augusta Urban Ministries to help our neighbors in need

Used Ink Jet cartridges & Old cellphones

Furniture and household items—Augusta Urban Ministries runs the only Furniture Bank in the CSRA. Call 706-722-8195. They’ll pick it up.

Attic Treasures– Right in the heart of Harlem. A thrift store that will take many of your excess items. Proceeds benefit the Harlem Relay for Life, the Harlem transitional house and other local projects
